Parenting in Islam: During Pregnancy
Spiritual care and beautiful practices for expecting mothers
Pregnancy • Quran • Dua • BlessingsA mother sits quietly in her room, gently placing her hand on her growing belly. Inside her, a new life is forming — a soul that Allah has chosen for her.
Pregnancy in Islam is not just a physical journey; it is a deeply spiritual phase. Every thought, every word, and every action of the mother carries an impact.
Islam beautifully guides expecting mothers to fill this journey with Quran, dua, patience, and positivity.
1. Recite the Quran Regularly
The Quran brings peace to the heart and نور (light) to the soul. During pregnancy, it is highly beneficial for a mother to recite or listen to the Quran daily.
Surahs like Surah Maryam, Surah Yusuf, and Surah Rahman are often recited for comfort and blessings.
2. Make Dua for a Righteous Child
A mother should constantly make dua for her child’s health, iman, and future.
Meaning: "My Lord, grant me [a child] from among the righteous."
This dua was made by Prophet Ibrahim (AS), and it is one of the most beautiful prayers for a child.
3. Engage in Dhikr (Remembrance of Allah)
Simple dhikr like SubhanAllah, Alhamdulillah, Allahu Akbar fills the heart with peace.
A mother who stays in remembrance of Allah creates a spiritually strong environment for her baby.
4. Stay Positive and Patient
Islam teaches sabr (patience). Pregnancy can be challenging, but every difficulty brings reward.
Keeping a positive mindset, avoiding stress, and trusting Allah helps both mother and child.
5. Follow a Halal and Pure Lifestyle
Eating halal food, speaking good words, and staying away from negativity is very important.
A pure lifestyle brings barakah into the life of the unborn child.
A Blessed Journey
Pregnancy is a gift from Allah. By filling this journey with Quran, dua, and positivity, a mother prepares not just a healthy child — but a righteous soul.
May Allah bless every mother with ease and grant righteous children. Ameen.
